Two Brothers Foods and The Kernow Sausage Company are excited to be taking part in Porthleven Food and Music Festival this year – along with a host of other local producers and an amazing line-up of top chefs!
The festival sees the harbour town of Porthleven – a fantastic foodie enclave at the best of times – come alive with hundreds of food stalls, a star-studded programme of chef’s demos and live entertainment in a weekend which marks the start of the packed food festival season in Cornwall.
This year Two Brothers Foods will be inside the main marquee on Saturday with a Butchery Counter. Here festival-goers can meet the Two Brothers team and buy fresh local meats to take home – handy for trying out recipes from the likes of Jack and Rick Stein, Jude Kereama and Antony Worrall Thompson who will be appearing in the Chef’s Theatre.
One of our favourite stars of the scene will be on stage at 1pm on Saturday. Neil Haydock from Watergate Bay will be demonstrating why, after travelling the world plying his trade, he is happy to call Cornwall home.
Meanwhile The Kernow Sausage Shack will be open for business on the harbour-side, serving up a Cornish take on Tex Mex street food (the theme of this year’s festival is ‘Fiesta’!) The team have got into the spirit, with a menu packed with smoky BBQ flavours and plenty of spice courtesy of Nature Kitchen (link – Nature Kitchen blog).
Think hotdogs laced with chilli sauce or doused in lime and coriander mayo, pork burgers piled high with sweetcorn salsa or smoky BBQ sauce, and sides of charred corn on the cob served with garlic butter. Just follow your noses to find us!
We’ll also be taking the opportunity to catch up with friends and customers, as Cornwall’s food enthusiasts come together to celebrate the great diversity and quality offered by producers and chefs in the region.
